The object of my exercise was to make do with very little cost while having heaps of  tranquil fun!  

The trail leading to wide open book covers has been a long one indeed.  It's beginning was way back in the beginning of 2020 and the first dead fall and lock down of Covid19 here in the UK, in Fiddle Wood Norwich to be a little more precise.   So covering all that time in such delightful playful activity i have made well over 28,000 books, and what they will sit upon.                                                                                                                                          

i decided  to collect 'In public domain pictures' and convert them as they are shown here. Being me, such as i was then it turned out not to be easy, just a wee bit tricky! However now i  am not that which  i once was, and these odd interesting things, and how best to convert them, come quite natural to my  fancy within my head with two good ears plus eyes of bright understanding.                                                       

Scratch-built examples once made correctly are much stronger than shop bought stuff. i use mainly paper card, that Picture Framers use. i also use Carpenters White Glue.  Of course printing paper finally turns out here to complete each colourful looking book to its safe cut out ending,                                              

A lady on the internet asked 'is there a quick way of making them', while viewing another one of my topics like this one.   immmmmmmmm... i thought 5 minutes tops, to make one.                              

 But really the quick way was getting someone to make them for her.                                                  

It is all about knowing how,                                                                                       

                 Then coupled with collected materials                                                                                        

         plus preparation and production methods...                                                                       

                  As a published artist author aiding the arts and craft's in others on the internet,                                    There is no thought of money making as a prime factor applied here.

There was once a huge plant of wicked sharp thorny leaves with high rising towering yellow flowers that produced seeds of perfect shaped sky blue; then the Black Bird arrived in it's summer-saulting routine of picking each one off, as if it were a well trained sniper. As the days daylight  wore ever on soon the blue was all gone.  

The moral  of this story is...

Fresh idea's are like those fine seeds of 'patterned blue', and so need protecting!

As for the black bird,it is busy,very busy sowing the blue seeds elswhere around the woodland scene that is Fiddle Wood.

Upon a small toy bookcase some of these will be front facing like rows of smart young infantry.

  Sir Percy and Estella,                                                                                                                            

     are content to serve in the Great Library,                                                                                               

  that does not exist at all.                                                                                                                         

  However there they stood once in my imagination.                                                                                

    

The books are ongoing                                                                                                                              

The library is ongoing                                                                                                                               

 And the story of it all is ongoing.                                                                                                                            

   It is for me a good safe sound quest to pursue... BB

The Quest For Filling Sir Percy's Library

The cause being removel of a faint Water Mark i had failed to notice, that someone had placed upon a public domain picture. Which is a darn cheek if you ask me.      So all the previous pictures had to be deleted and fresh ones added to make up for that lack of etiquette.

                The dark surround will certainly aid mu poor eyesight while cutting out.

                                             All deep set into ink ready for printing out.

The ones above are reduced in size for re-printing out.

                                 It would be 1935 before they placed a nappy on this poor babe.

All prepared plates are ready for printing again now.

 which was a bright winged case of make do and mend.
