BB`s BATTLE AT WATERLOO

  1. That's one heck of a collection you have BB it must of took hours just to set it all up. I wish I could get my head around Napoleonics properly but they are my nemesis I'm afraid. Thanks for posting it's certainly a stirring sight.

    1. Yes it took weeks to set up my tables, then sort out thousands of photographs. The hardest part time wise that is, was spent painting figures. I painted and scratch-built the building several times over many years working sort of blind because I only had books for an aid. I had no internet in those lonely dark days. My hobby then was being by myself throughout each day converting toy figures. However I loved the peaceful solitude.
All the toy figures are conversions using head swops from other 1/72 scale Napoleonic kits.Only this Blog and YouTube, are now showing the record of my hobby-style playful times. I took action and pulled the plug on all my photographs and topics and wiped out 9 years of work on an online Forum.
Anyway Russ, that I assign to my personal history and I wish you well as a friend. Stay safe, stay well. BB

  2. Wow BB that was awesome! All 1/72? Dang! You must have hundreds of hours invested in that many troops. Are they all a mix of manufacturers or predominantly one brand? What is your preference for plastic minis?

    1. Hello Vol.Only about a third of my Napoleonic collection is shown in the movie. Well I collect toys, convert figures,scratch-build,run trains and write and produce on line free book tutorials. I have never confessed to being a great painter,as long as I could use the basic colours and present massed formations I was happy. Alas I can no longer paint toy figures due to Post Traumatic Stress Disorder! Over the years I converted HAT,REVELL, STRELLETS, ITALIERI and ZEVEZDA Boxed Sets. The half square on my table contains 660 ITALIERI, Figures many are my own conversions. Well to be truthful ITALIERI, reproduce on and on repetitive none correct uniforms and horses, and horse furniture to. And they are aware of it.The wording and understanding of the term 'TOY SOLDIERS', has a legal meaning that toys need not be correct. I have no preference for the above mentioned, as I no longer trade with them. I now collect large armies of 28mm plastic and metal figures now. WARLORDGAMES,have many faults. FRONTRANK figures are beautiful. So I mainly buy them and give honest written reviews in order to help out the guys in the hobby who might have very limited means where buying toy figures is concerned.

      Vol, stay safe,stay well. BB

    2. You to BB, and thanks for the answer. I had thought maybe Strelets might be more accurate. I like their level of detail and varied poses, but don't have many of the sets.

    3. Hi Vol, Strelets a few years ago '2008, Set MO23' produced marching French Infantry, but alas 20 in each box were Sergeant's because the muskets were on the right shoulder... a big, big mistake to make.i ended up throwing out hundreds from the boxes of those figures to landfill. BB
